Mirror is a communication practice and coaching tool for personal development. It lets you rehearse real conversations with an AI practice partner and receive automated feedback. It is not therapy, counseling, crisis support, or medical, psychological, legal, or professional advice, and your practice partner is artificial intelligence, not a licensed professional or a real person.

What Mirror does when a session touches on crisis

Mirror maintains a protocol designed to detect and respond to expressions of suicidal ideation, self-harm, or intent to harm yourself or others during a session. When such content is detected:

The practice partner is directed to step out of the role-play rather than continue the scenario, to avoid engaging with the content as if it were part of the exercise, and to surface crisis resources, including the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) and 911 in the United States, or your local emergency services elsewhere. Mirror does not attempt to provide crisis counseling or treatment; its role in that moment is to point you toward people who can help.

You are always talking to AI

Your practice partner is generated by artificial intelligence and is not a human. We show a clear notice in the experience itself so this is never in doubt. Mirror is designed for skill practice, not companionship, and does not use manipulative techniques to keep you engaged.
